Academic Matters
The core purpose of attending Richland Academy is for pupils to develop to their full potential academically, emotionally, socially and physically. For this reason:-
Pupils’ work and attitude towards learning will be carefully monitored-it is expected to be the highest standard of which a pupil is capable;
♦ Presentation of work must be neat and tidy.
♦ Care must be taken with all books and files.
♦ Pupils must be at the correct classroom on time, fully prepared with the correct books.
♦ Homeworks, when sent, must be completed and handed in on time.
Learning & Curriculum
Richland Academy is an international school known for blending both the Nigerian and British curriculum by identifying students with visual, auditory, kinesthetic learners and aligning the overall curriculum with these learning styles to create an atmosphere that is conducive and beneficial to the students within the classroom.
Richland Academy has witnessed drastic change from the orthodox method of Teacher- Centered and Low-Tech approach to learning, to Student-Centered and High-Tech approach to learning over the years. This has placed Teachers’ role on coaching and facilitating students’ learning and overall comprehension of material, and also measuring students’ learning through both formal and informal forms of assessment like group projects, student portfolios, and class participation using different modern technologies to aid students in their class learning.
